Some of you might have already known about this, but according to an announcement on IVLE, there is no homework for Lang Arts, so there has been doubts on whether to do the book talk. I've clarified with Mdm Choo and she said that it is confirmed that we still have to do the book talk, just that we don't have to do the essay as the titles for the Commonwealth Essay Writing competition are not out yet.

So guys, remember to do the book talk! Details on book talk is already posted on an earlier post by Yi Wen on this blog, so remember to check it out if you have any doubts on it.

In case you find the book presentation instructions are too vague, I have just put down extra details of it which I just got from Mdm Choo. (: Hope it helps.

Regarding the book presentation, a summary of the content is needed when you are doing a recommendation. In other words, you need to give your listeners a gist,i.e., the main idea of the book. Of course, you should be referring to certain parts of the book which you feel are worth the while highlighting. Anyway, we trust your good sense in the choice of the book. Some personal suggestions are authors like Kazuo Ishiguro, Amy Tan, Pearl S Buck, Somerset Maugham , Jane Austen and the Bronte sisters - Emily and Charlotte Bronte.
A gentle reminder: you all do need to look up ivle to check for the list of the essay titles for the c'wealth essay writing competition.

· If you have travelled to an H1N1 affected country/region and is not feeling well, please call 993 for medical assistance. You should also stay at home until you are fully recovered. Please do not go out e.g. shopping, for meals, take the MRT or socialise with others until the doctor tells you that you are well.”

2009年中二华文假期作业
试以一位推销员的身份向读者推销一本华文阅读书籍，小说或游记（有故事性的内容）,开学后呈现（呈现时间待定）。

推销方式 (WHAT WE NEED TO DO) :
1）制作一份微软剪报（powerpoint)（不得多于12页）。
2）一份书面呈现报告（介于400-800字之间）把微软剪报的内容进一步说明。
3) 口语呈现，向同学即时推销书籍（不得多于3分钟）。

内容[REQUIREMENTS]：
1.书名、作者简介。
2.推销内容应说明为什么读者非读这本书不可，有什么卖点（语文、内容、人物等方面）。
例如：从书中抽取一段你认为最吸引你的内容，说明吸引的原因。内容的构思、语言的运用。欣赏的人物，欣赏的原因，如性格特征、能引起共鸣等（至少举两个例子加以说明）
3．内容也可包括这本书是否对你产生任何影响（生活上、课业上、人际关系、价值观念、思想观念等。）

basically, we will only BBQ for the first night.
For the other meals, you all will have to settle them yourself.
We will be eating Instant noodle (SIGH PATHETIC) due to financial problem.

The brass in the bimetallic strip has a higher expansitivity and thus expands more for the same temperature rise as compared to the iron and the strip bends upwards. 10kians went to clementi pri for CIP on monday.
let me tell you more ;D
that day was a sunny morning?
and we met at clementi mrt station.
joel brought LOTS of tibits,of cos,for my breakfast.
(how thoughful he is)
kenneth ong brought alot of cheese balls.
due to joel watching duno wad the previous night
he forgotten to bring STRINGS.
so i went around to buy it.
early morning,where got shops open ==
i went back of cos,
they bought strings,paid by weelytey.
she forgot take reciept.
WAHAHA.
then,we waited for mr tan.
he was 10mins late?
i think so.
we walked to clementi primary sch and divided us into groups.
group 1---yanning and mary
group 2---yeeshin and michelle
group 3---yingjie and weely
group 4---beihua and kenneth ong
group 5---jiahui and joel
then we set up games.
we played ice breaker games.
wacko,michelle was asked to do forfeit(chicken dance
later we played fire,hunter,earthquake,which was the MOST memorable,
as our dearest chairperson,MR KOBEIHUA,
and our dearest D&T rep,MISS LEEYINGJIE,
held hands and protect our dearest CIP rep MR KENNETH ONG.
